Punky Bride Styled Shoot, Oswestry Shropshire

I was given a wedding dress about a year ago, and I didn’t really know what to do with it - it certainly wouldn’t fit me! - until I realised it might fit Sam - a model from Oswestry who has an alternative look. Bright hair, tats, great outfits - she had the look that would counterpoint the traditional style of the dress with an alternative and modern twist.

So with a bit of help from Rustic Bloom Shropshire who supplied the bespoke designed bouquet, this Shropshire Wedding Photographer headed to the outskirts of Oswestry, jumped a fence and set about a quick shoot in the cold but glorious countryside.

My idea of this shoot was to try a few new poses working only with natural light and a ‘bride’ and Sam’s experience of modelling poses gave me a few ideas for taking to weddings. She was ace and I think we got some great shots from the session.

A styled shoot isn’t a real wedding by any stretch of the imagination, but it keeps the skills up, and allows me to try out new things in a safe way. And here are some of the pictures from the session…
